Burial Ground for Cardiff North Consultation
Cardiff Council are to undertake pre-application consultation in respect of the proposed development of existing Council owned land North of the M4 on the A469 for new cemetery space.
The existing cemetery on Thornhill Road is getting close to capacity and a new site is required to meet the demand of burial space for those in the North of the City.
Notice is therefore given that Cardiff Council is intending to apply for planning permission, for the following development;
Development of an existing field to be used as burial space. The site will provide a number of burial options including Lawn Graves, Traditional Graves, Cremated Remains Graves, Infant Graves and a Natural Burial Area.
The site will also include roads, paths, a car park, toilet block and waiting area together with water facilities and waste collection points.
Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority and in accordance with the requirements set out in Article 1 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2016, the proposal will be subject to pre-application consultation.
